Folksy Friday: Laser Cutting

Hello and welcome to my latest Folksy Friday, featuring handmade items from Folksy which have been laser cut. Although I've never tried it myself, I've always loved the laser cut effect; so simple yet intricate and beautiful.
Check out these gorgeous finds! :)

I hope you've enjoyed this week's Folksy Friday!
Happy Weekend. :)

Facebook and Treasuries

Hello!
After being a bit of a slacker, again, I'm back!

I've nervously published my Facebook page this week, and had a lovely response from friends and family, and a few friends-of-friends! I even got an order from a friend within the first hour or so! Amazing!
Here's the link:

It's obviously that bit of extra work, and I'm still trying to get into the swing of all this networking and promoting. It's incredibly time consuming, especially if you haven't got a list of stuff to do.
(Although not a bad way to spend a rainy Saturday; wandering about chatting to people, browsing their shops and reading/commenting on blog and forum posts.)

I also created my first Etsy Treasury, entitled 'Pumpkin Pie'.
Take a peek if you're interested!

Happy Saturday!

Useful advice for online selling

Hey everyone!
I've been doing lots of research since opening my Folksy and Etsy shops as I’m looking to improve all the time. The things I hear everywhere are:

1) Really good photos.
2) SEO titles, tags, etc.
3) Promotion, in whatever form. Forums, Facebook, Twitter, Blog, Craftjuice, etc.
4) Aim to get at least 50 items in your shop; people may want to buy more than one item to maximise on their postage costs.
5) List/Relist everyday.
6) Customer Service; go above and beyond. Communication, packaging etc.
7) Have new items in your shop, to keep repeat customers coming back.
8) Last, but definitely not least, have good quality, well priced products and present them to your target market.

Hope this is useful! :) I’m working on it all myself and thought I'd share.

Happy Thursday!

Halloween Greetings Cards

Hello!
New Halloween Collection update!
Here's my collection of Halloween greetings cards, just listed on my Folksy and Etsy shops. They're perfect for celebrating the holidays, fancy dress party invitations, or any occasion throughout the year.

After finishing them just a little too late for Halloween last year, I'm so excited to finally have them listed! They were the first cards I created for Studio Parlay.
(Plus I love Halloween!!)

Duck Cards and Etsy

Hello!
So, after feeling like I'm getting the hang of my Folksy shop, I've decided to start listing on my Etsy store too. I'm really interested to see how they differ, which gets more views, more sales or which I simply prefer using.
Do you use both? Or some of the other sites available? What do you think of them?
I've also signed up for the new Folksy Plus account, which gives me more of a reason to list, list, list!
Here's my most recent offering, my "Ducks-In-A-Row" card. The design is a reflection of my ambition to one day, be self employed.

Available in A6 and A5.

I'm prepping my ducks as we speak. :)

Happy Saturday.

Wedding cake card

Hello!
Spent the rainy weekend indoors, making and photographing some new cards. I've just listed my new, versatile Wedding cake card.
(available in A5 and A6)

Still trying to get to grips with taking good photos to be honest. I'll make that my mission this week!

Happy Sunday to you all!

Adventure on the Allotment

Hello!
So, on Sunday morning I awoke early with the plan of heading to the allotment to attack the jungle of weeds growing there. Looking at the darkening sky while drinking tea, I convinced myself it would blow over. I headed out, dressed in waterproofs (just in case!), proud of fulfilling my commitment to go up, and when I got up there, had a coffee from the thermos I brought along and set about taking photos - as I always do.

Here are our first SweetPeas!!                               ...and CandyTuft!

...and this, my friends, is what hit me next!

I wish I'd been able to photograph myself huddled under my umbrella, laughing hysterically (on my own!) and fighting with the wind; it was fantastic!

Needless to say, not much weeding got done! :)

Happy Monday everyone!
